Troubleshooting & FAQ
Connecting
I didn't get a notification on my phone
Open the Thndr app on your phone and make sure you're signed in to the same account you signed in with in the browser. Check that notifications from Thndr are allowed. If the request was declined or expired, start the connection again from your client.
Hermes says Failed to connect: with nothing after it
Hermes gave up before you finished signing in and approving. Add --connect-timeout 300 to the hermes mcp add command. See Connect Hermes Agent.
VS Code says Unknown client_id
VS Code saved the wrong client ID. Remove the saved provider and enter claude when asked. See Connect VS Code.
OpenClaw's Gateway page can't sign in
Signing in from the Gateway's Settings → MCP page isn't supported yet. Stop the Gateway and use openclaw mcp login thndr. See Connect OpenClaw.
My client can't reach the server
Use the full URL, https://mcp.thndr.app/mcp, including /mcp at the end. Claude and ChatGPT connect from their own cloud, so the address must be public; this one is.
Using the tools
A tool I expected isn't there
You only see the tools you allowed when you connected. To add one, remove Thndr from your client, connect again and tick it.
I don't see the trading tools
Sending, tracking and cancelling trade proposals is rolling out to customers gradually. If those tools aren't offered when you connect, they aren't on your account yet. The rest of the tools work as usual.
My assistant says it was rate limited
Each account can make a limited number of calls in a short time, shared across every client you've connected. Wait a few seconds and ask again.
Questions
Can my assistant buy or sell for me?
No. It can only send a proposal to your Thndr app. Nothing happens until you approve each item there, and you can decline any of them.
Does my assistant see my Thndr password?
No. You sign in on a Thndr page in your browser, and the assistant gets access limited to the tools you chose.
Which accounts does it work with?
Your own Thndr account on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), the one you sign in with.
