Connect ChatGPT

ChatGPT, with developer mode on

ChatGPT adds custom MCP servers as apps once developer mode is on. It connects from OpenAI's cloud.

Add the app

  1. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings.
  2. Go to Plugins and add a new app.
  3. Fill in the form:
    • Logo: the Thndr logo. Download it here.
    • Name: Thndr
    • Description: for example, Access to your Thndr account: portfolio, orders, prices and savings, and managing your savings clouds and watchlist.
    • MCP server URL: https://mcp.thndr.app/mcp, with OAuth as the authentication.
  4. Confirm, then press Connect. A Thndr sign-in page opens.
  5. Sign in, tick the tools you want ChatGPT to use, and press Allow.
  6. Approve the request in the Thndr app on your phone. Check that the number on your phone matches the one on screen.

In a new chat, pick the Thndr app and ask:

Change which tools ChatGPT can use

To allow a different set of tools, remove the Thndr app, add it again and tick the tools you want.
